Palan Sarkar is seen in Rajshahi

Palan Sarkar was a close friend of the book lovers of Rajshahi. He used to deliver books from door to door. After reading it, he would exchange it for another book. The whole country and the world later came to know him through media sources. He passed away in 2019 at the age of 98. The people of Rajshahi division still miss him. It was heard that Palan Sarkar is being seen again in Rajshahi.

Zahir Raihan is making a film about Palan Sarkar, the peddler of knowledge. Renowned actor Fazlur Rahman Babu is playing the role of Palan Sarkar in it. The shooting of the film began in Kakanhat, Rajshahi, in the middle of the month, and then in Rajshahi city.

Palan Sarkar's real name is Harez Uddin. He is known as Palan Sarkar. This person has worked to instill the habit of reading books by buying books with his own money and delivering them to the readers' homes. In recognition, he received the Ekushey Padak in 2011. In 2007, a reading room was built in the courtyard of his house on the initiative of the government.

Regarding acting in the role of Palan Sarkar, Fazlur Rahman Babu said, "A fiction is being made about the life story of Palan Sarkar. I am acting in it. I started working on it on December 13 when I came here. Although it is not exactly Palan Sarkar's house, the shooting is taking place in such a place, it would be nice to see the place on screen.

Apart from Fazlur Rahman Babu, the film also stars Zakia Bari Mom, Sushma Sarkar, Naresh Bhuiyan, Sanjana, and some students of the Department of Dramatic Arts of Rajshahi University and some local theatre workers.
